German Battery Act (BattG) & Battery Disposal Information
Environmental protection and responsible recycling are important components of sustainable battery use. In accordance with the German Battery Act (BattG), customers are legally required to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries for proper recycling and disposal.

Important Information About Battery Disposal
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries to designated collection points.
You can return used batteries free of charge at local collection centers, municipal recycling facilities, participating retailers, or directly to AkkuPlus.com by mail.
Proper disposal helps protect the environment and enables valuable materials to be recovered and recycled for future use.
Symbol of the Crossed-Out Wheelie Bin
Batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
Below the symbol, you may find chemical abbreviations identifying hazardous substances:
- Cd = Cadmium
- Pb = Lead
- Hg = Mercury
These substances require special treatment during recycling and disposal processes.
Battery Recycling and Take-Back System
The German battery take-back system ensures that used batteries are collected, sorted, and recycled in an environmentally responsible manner. Recycling helps recover valuable resources and reduces environmental impact.
For additional information regarding Germany's battery recycling system, please visit the official website of the Foundation Joint Take-Back System Batteries (GRS).
